Peconic House

This modern home, designed by Studio Mapos, celebrates the landscape with natural materials and a green roof. Situated on a 5-acre bluff, it’s sandwiched between an old-growth forest and the waterfront in a sliver of meadow on the Peconic Bay in the Hamptons, New York. The client had a vision of creating a compound that leaves as little imprint on the site as possible. Working with Beitel Landscape Associates and Gentry Construction Company, New York Green Roofs installed this grassy green roof to mirror the surrounding landscape, concealing human intervention and minimizing the project’s impact on the water shed.
