This garden is truly a retreat in the middle of a bustling neighborhood in Manhattan. New York Green Roofs was retained to implement a strategy drawn up by Starr Whitehouse, converting a ground level vaulted rooftop into a lush haven for inviting a family of six to enjoy some time connecting with each other. To accommodate so many, the planting beds were kept small and hug the perimeter of the garden, but the multi-layered approach emphasizes just how much impact a tiny garden can have.
