West Village Residence

This 3,500 square foot extensive green roof is part of a larger landscape incorporating the town home’s multi-level rooftop deck, container gardens, and front entry planting. Skylight areas were specially designed to stabilize vegetation on slopes up to 40 degrees.  The green roof flourishes utilizing only 1” of growing medium.  It’s plant community was carefully curated to include dynamic species of alpine succulents and the container garden hosts woody shrubs, herbaceous perennials, and flowering vines.  All plantings are well suited to the dynamics of the rooftop’s harsh environment yet reflect the low key spirit of the neighborhood.
