This river-front home sits along the top of a steep shale ridge in New York’s historic Catskill Mountains. Designed by Basil Walter Architects, the house is surrounded by meandering woods that conceal and reveal views of the terrain, all the way down to the mighty Hudson River below. New York Green Roofs capped the lower roofs with vegetation to not only minimize storm water runoff into the nearby waterway but also ground the views of the forest from the 2nd story windows, creating a seamless flow between home and nature.
